Anterior Bridges
Houston, TX

Anterior Bridge diagram at Alexandra Garcia, DDS in Houston, TX.The first thing that someone will notice about your smile is the teeth in the front of your mouth. You want your front teeth, also known as your anterior teeth, to look fantastic. What do you do if a single tooth or more teeth are missing? The answer to that question is easy; you come to see us here at Alexandra Garcia, DDS. We will tell you what your options are. One of those options could be an anterior bridge.

What Is an Anterior Bridge?

If you are missing one or more of your front teeth, you will want to do something about it. An anterior bridge could be the solution.

With an anterior bridge, we will replace the tooth or teeth that have been lost with an artificial bridge. The first step is that we will treat the teeth that are on either side of the anterior gap. Most of the time we will place a crown on those teeth so that they will better be able to hold the bridge in place.

After the two teeth are capped, it will be time for the bridge. It will be placed between the two caps and then bonded into place with a composite resin. The resin will be strong and will hold the bridge in place.

An anterior bridge is designed to match the color and the look of the rest of your teeth. We will make sure that the shade matches so that your bridge will not stand out. After all, we want to make sure that you will want to show off your new smile.

Taking good care of your anterior bridge is important. The most important thing that you can do is to brush several times a day. It would help if you used a toothbrush that is soft bristled; you do not need a medium or hard toothbrush. A soft toothbrush is better for your teeth and gums no matter what state your oral health is in.

Another thing that you will want to do to take care of your anterior bridge is to be careful when it comes to hard objects. Do not use your bridge to open ketchup packages or things like that. You also should not chew ice, and be careful if you have hard candy.

Your bridge should last, but if you have a problem with it, please let us know immediately. We will want to check and make sure that everything is the way that it is supposed to be.
